We specialise in Tunisian Deglet Noor dates, available in four main export formats: Branched Dates (premium retail presentation, harvested and sold on the natural branchlet), Pitted Dates (stone removed by hand — the leading ingredient for energy bars, snacking brands, and bakeries), Standard/Loose Dates (natural, un-hydrated, preferred by bulk repackers and wholesale distributors), and Processed/Hydrated Dates (steam-conditioned for consistent softness, ideal for consumer retail packs). We also supply date-based food ingredients including Date Paste, Date Sugar, and Chopped Dates for industrial manufacturers. View the full Deglet Noor product range.
Deglet Noor and Medjool are two distinct date varieties suited to very different markets. Deglet Noor is a firm, semi-translucent amber date with a chewy texture and a balanced sugar profile (approximately equal sucrose, glucose, and fructose). With a shelf life of 12+ months, it is highly suited to global bulk export, industrial processing, baking, and energy bar manufacturing. Medjool is a larger, darker, softer date typically consumed as a fresh table snack with a shorter 6-month shelf life. Tunisia is the world's leading exporter of Deglet Noor — the variety forms the backbone of global wholesale date trade and is the preferred choice for food manufacturers. Learn more on our Deglet Noor market intelligence page.
Moisture levels vary depending on the product type. Branched and Standard/Natural dates retain their moisture as naturally harvested, giving a firmer, drier texture preferred by purists and bulk repackers. Processed and Pitted dates undergo our steam hydration process to achieve a consistently soft texture suited to retail packing lines and food manufacturing. For processed and pitted dates, we can calibrate to match your specific moisture target or technical specification — simply share your requirements with our export team and we will adjust accordingly.
We supply two grades for pitted and processed Deglet Noor dates. Extra (Grade A) — premium quality with high size uniformity and visual appearance, suited to branded retail packs and premium supermarket chains. Category 1 (Grade B) — suitable for industrial packing lines and food manufacturing applications where strict visual consistency is less critical. Our export team can advise on the best grade for your specific market or end-use application. See full technical specifications on the Our Dates page.
Our dates are sourced from the oasis regions of Douz and El Hamma (Gabes) in the Tunisian Sahara — two of the world's most celebrated growing areas for Deglet Noor. We work with carefully selected partner farmers in these regions and process all product at our own facilities, ensuring full traceability from source to shipment. We can supply on FOB (Free On Board), CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight), or CFR (Cost & Freight) terms, depending on your preference and destination port. Our team will advise on the most practical Incoterm for your market and freight setup. Contact us to discuss your logistics requirements.
Yes — all Aurum Dates shipments are made exclusively in reefer (refrigerated) containers. Tunisian export regulations require dates to be shipped under controlled temperature conditions. This is non-negotiable and ensures product integrity, shelf life, and texture are fully preserved throughout transit — whether your destination port is in Europe, North America, or Asia.
A 40ft reefer container typically holds 20–21 pallets of Tunisian Deglet Noor dates. A 20ft reefer container holds 9–10 pallets. Exact pallet counts depend on the packaging format — retail trays, cartons, or bulk cards. Full pallet weight and dimension specifications broken down by pack size are available on our Our Dates logistics page.
